The Thursday Post 23.8.12

People often greed for beautiful things like love too, those who has been neglected by this beautiful passion yearn, ache, hunger for it. Ultimately that hunger, greed causes them nothing but pain.

There is one simple truth, it’s better to try our best and let the results come, without hungering for them if we are seeking happiness. There are so many conflicting factors in this world that the best attempt of a person may fail miserably, whereas another person can get the same thing without batting his eyelid- that’s how this world is. We can do only one thing chose between greed/yearning/aching and happiness.

    • That is so true.
Longing for what is beyond one’s reach, for some reason, can indeed be an obstacle to happiness!
Setting and realizing realistic goals is a better idea.

  1. yearning definitely can lead to aches, disappointments but accepting what comes our way gladly is not easy….it requires lot of efforts to train ourselves to react in that way.
there is another facet to it as well……..if we don’t want something passionately,we will never work towards it with all our might…will not be loosing a battle without fighting, accepting failure without trying………even to attend that kind of acceptance we need to work towards it with zeal and then we might or might not reach……………….life id like that …kind of round about.

    • wise truth. but then, we will have to decide what we want to attain, happiness or satisfaction. we cant be sages, that life is quite dull to us, but we will prefer not to be wandering souls forever running after mirages to get hurt again and again i believe. we have to take care of our heart and decide how far we will risk it.
