Tourism is always acknowledged as a big environmental hazard, that’s not the case with SwaSwara the 26.5 acre tourist hub built on famous Om beach of Goa, surrounded by dense tropical forest.
SwaSwara never allows the total number of human beings (guests plus staff) 100, 11 acre of the land is covered by trees, it has borrowed its colors from the earth around it, it takes care not to draw water from outside its campus, and the waste water is used for irrigation of farmland after recycling. The crop of that farmland is used in its kitchen.
Now that’s what I will say the way tourism should be, enjoying the wilderness without leaving a single footprint.
Hope more and more take cue from them.
