king cobra the world’s longest poisonous snake that can grow upto 18 feet are found in the forests of South Asia, especially in India. The rainforests of the Western Ghat are home to a substantial population.
The fast moving, agile snake hates confrontations but when unable to flee, it defends itself ferociously. A king cobra can raise one third of its body vertically with its massive hood flared, thus scaring off its opponent. (I wont like to see one in this stance in wild- real close I mean! that’s for sure!). its growl like hiss can un-nerve most beasts.
they mainly feed on other snakes, have enough poison to kill men or other beasts within few minutes but avoid confrontation.
these days villagers of the nearby places are claiming that excessive heat is driving these not very welcome guests in their villages 🙂
