That time is here again,
crispness in morning air
fragrance of coral jasmine
faint drumbeats in dark.

Drummers playing their drum
in some far away pandal.
While the priest prepares
for the arati of divine.

Divine mother has come down
to visit her family in earth
will stay for five days
before she has to return.

Earth decks up for her
scatters dewdrops and siuli
fills up the ponds with lotus
air becomes fragrant.

Happiness on every face
wait of a year is over
people crowding in pandals
to relish the festive fervor.
