You don’t own me, you are my love,
you should always keep that in mind.
You are giving me your love
and I feel blessed, cherished.
I know you might not have
chosen me, chosen someone else
and showered your love on her!
That is why I feel special and loved.

Just like you love me I love you too,
and you too will have to take care
of these simple, golden truths;
That if I feel used, abused or ignored
I may walk out on you too
and select someone else to love.
Even worse I may start to love
myself and overcome yearning for love.
